Investigators cracked a youthful burglary ring that preyed on Hollywood's rich and famous, often brazenly walking into their unlocked homes to make off with cash, jewels and family heirlooms, authorities said.
A suspect turned informant told police that a 19-year-old woman was the "driving force" in the thefts, motivated by a desire to own the designer clothes and jewelry of such celebrities as Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

Police officials have unearthed stolen goods belonging to PARIS HILTON and LINDSAY LOHAN in a raid on the Las Vegas home of a member of Hollywood's so-called Bling Ring burglars, who targeted the estates of young celebrities.

Court records identify a 19-year-old Las Vegas woman as the leader of a burglary ring suspected of a series of break-ins at celebrities' homes in Los Angeles.
Search warrant records obtained Friday in Las Vegas show that police seized photos of Paris Hilton, designer jeans, computers, a Korean passport and 204 $100 bills when they arrested Rachel Lee at a northwest Las Vegas home Oct. 22.
Records show Lee was released the same day after posting $3,000 bail.

A man arrested for allegedly burglarizing celebrities' homes in Los Angeles has told police that the 19-year-old woman who masterminded the ring wanted to own the designer wardrobes of her favorite Hollywood stars.
According to a Las Vegas police search warrant obtained Friday, Nicholas Purgo told detectives Rachel Jungeon Lee was the driving force behind the break-ins.
Purgo described the burglaries, the other young people who participated and the artwork, jewelry and designer clothing that was taken
